Churches in the time of Covid-19 have evolved from environments of public community to in-home spiritual connection. While the opportunity to attend a church service has become more accessible since all one must do is tune in on their computer, many people have also found that removing the habitual routine of physically going to church has uprooted their weekly church visitation.
Based on the churches we emailed and the websites we visited, it was evident that while sometimes attendance has not decreased because of services moving online, sometimes attendance has decreased as much as a third. Something to consider is that the participant number of online service can only be measured by those who watch live, while those who watch at a later time may not be counted.
There is also a variety of streaming resources churches use, such as zoom, the church website, and Facebook.
